ProBettingHub is a statistics site for football and basketball. Every match has its numbers, and in football so does every league: goals, both teams to score, corners, cards, xG and more.

These numbers describe what has already happened, not what will happen next. Read each one with the number of matches behind it: a share built on a handful of matches can change quickly.

Two tools built on those numbers

Your first three steps

  1. Open a match or a league

Every match has its own page with its statistics, and so does every football league. A match you already follow is a good place to start.

Pro Finder on a phone: a league row with the matches under it
Tap a league’s name (1) for its page, or a match (2) for its statistics.
  2. Find matches by their statistics

Choose the statistics that matter to you and set a range for each. The list keeps only the matches that fit. The pictures follow one example: matches in the featured leagues between two teams that went over 2.5 goals in at most 40% of their last 10 matches.

The top of Pro Finder on a phone, with the Filters button
In Pro Finder, tap Filters (1).
The Filters panel with Only featured switched on and the Over / Under % group open
Switch on Only featured (1) to keep the leagues on the featured list: the top flights and selected second divisions. The statistics are grouped by topic: open a group, here Over / Under % (2), and tap a statistic, here Over 2.5 % (3).
Over 2.5 % opened in the Filters panel, with a range for each team and the period
Set a range for each team: drag the handles, or tap a number and type it. Here the most is 40% for the home team (1) and for the away team (2), counted over each team’s last 10 matches (3).
The Pro Finder list after the filter, with the filter’s chip and its column
Close the panel: the list keeps only the matches that fit. The chip (1) shows the filter (tap its × to remove it), and the column (2) shows each team’s number.
  3. Check your filters on finished matches

Run the same filters on matches that have already been played to see how a selection did, and on how many matches. In the example, the selection is Over 1.5 goals.

The Filters panel with backtesting switched on and Over/Under, line 1.5 and Over chosen
In the same panel, tick Enable backtesting (1), then choose the market (2), the line (3) and the selection (4).
The backtest result above the Pro Finder list
The result appears above the list (1): units won or lost at 1 unit per selection, the yield, and how many matches it rests on.
The full backtest: period, result, selections and odds reference
Tap the card for the full backtest. Choose the period (1), here the last 6 months. Next to the result (2) are the yield and the number of selections it rests on (3). The odds reference (4) says which odds the result uses, here the best current odds across all sources.

Reading a positive result

In the example, the selection came out ahead over the last 6 months. Before you read much into a result like that, check three things.

  • How many matches. Across about a thousand matches, a yield of a few percent either way can come from chance alone. The more matches and the larger the yield, the more the result says.
  • Newer matches. Compare the last 3 months with the last 6. A result that holds on the newer matches says more than one that only shows up over the longer period.
  • Which odds. The best current odds are the highest across all sources. At the average odds the same selection usually comes out lower, so check the odds reference before you compare two results.

A backtest describes matches already played. It does not tell you what the next match will do.
